Welcome!

I am a librarian turned freelance writer based in Dublin, Ireland.  In addition to writing for Dublin Explorer: The Complete Residents' Guide (Explorer Publishing, 2007), I have also published over 600 pieces in international print and online publications including The Writer, Self, Girls’ Life, Six78th, Learning Through History, YRB, Learn Overseas and Organize magazines and on sites such as SheKnows, WORKS by Nicole Williams, Daily Candy London, Parenting Teens Online and WOW! Women On Writing.  My essay “Poor Little Smart Girl” was  included in Chicken Soup for the Soul Getting In… to College (2008), I contributed to the charity anthology Homepages: Tales from the Irish Blogosphere (2008) and my essay "Two Years for the Pain of One" will be included in the upcoming anthology My First Year In the Classroom: 50 Stories That Celebrate the Good, the Bad and the Unforgettable (August, 2009).

As a qualified Information Specialist holding a Masters degree in Library and Information Studies I have also served as a researcher for a variety of individuals and organisations, and as a tutor to a number of fellow writers.  I enjoy guiding others so greatly that I now offer a one day workshop entitled Freelance Writing: An Introduction through the University College Dublin Adult Education Centre.  This workshop will take place again in February 2010. I will also be offering a Web Wise Workshop through the Inkwell Writers Workshops in October 2010.   For those who just can't wait, I will speak at Inkwell's fantastic Selling Yourself: Marketing and Presentation for Authors workshop in September 2009 and look forward to meeting many new friends!

Please feel free to browse my portfolio and contact me at any time.  Alternatively, visit Hell Or High Water for more information on the freelance writing life.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
